Welcome to the Silverlight QuickStart Using Microsoft Expression Blend! This
QuickStart is similar to the the
Silverlight 1.0 QuickStart
except that it focuses on using the designer tool Microsoft Expression Blend to create
Silverlight graphics and UI rather than working directly in XAML code. Although using a tool like Blend can simplify and speed up your Silverlight development, it is useful to understand how XAML works; therefore,
it is recommended that you at least skim the
Silverlight 1.0 QuickStart
in addition to using this tutorial.
This QuickStart consists of step-by-step instructions of how to use Blend 2 to create the media player below. Although the media player is simple,
going through the process of creating this application will familiarize you with the main tools and processes of
creating Silverlight applications using Blend 2.
This QuickStart contains the sections shown on the left-hand table of contents. Use this table of contents to skip from one
topic to the next or use the what's next link at the bottom of each page to go onto the next topic.
